2 miles...again... without stopping... only started feeling like i was gonna die about 2/3's of the way thru instead of the whole way... i guess thats improvement?

all critters are doing well... life is good

am considering trying to start biking to work... not sure if its smart or stupid... but gas is crazy and the health benefits (and environmental benefits) are huge...  it would be about 5-6 miles one way... not crazy... i have a mountian bike (new) instead of a road bike... the only potentially scary part of the ride would be crossing the causway.. there's no real bike path or sidewalk across it.  I see people crossing it all the time on bikes.. but bill thinks im crazy to consider it.  There is a small park right across the causway.. i could potentially load my bike up on the rack on the car in the morning... drive the mile from my house to the park...unload the bike and leave the car at the park for the day... but that seems needlessly complicated.  i think im gonna get ballsy and try the ride on saturday morning or something... see how it goes.  I think i need to get one of those refelctive vests...

Do it, do it, do it! You're right to be careful about the safety concerns, but you can't beat the benefits. If you biked to and from work every day, you could probably drop the running, which is bad for your knees. I'm biased - I love biking and hate running, but you really do have to watch your joints much more with running than biking. Anyway, if you don't already carry a spare tube, you should get one before becoming a bike commuter. Walking your bike 6 miles sucks! I know all too well.
